Served with U.S. Army in South Pacific during World War II (medic, 124th Infantry, 31st (Dixie) Division, assigned to a reconnaissance platoon; two Bronze Stars for service in New Guinea, Morotai & Mindanao). Worked as a mason for over 40 years, first as Mike Weir and Brothers, later as Mike Weir and Sons. Member, Fifth District, Fifteenth District, Riverside, Bird River, Norris, Deep Creek and East End Democratic Clubs. Member, American Legion; Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW); Hawks; National Rifle Association; Federation of Independent Business Men. Married; six children, ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren. Died in Baltimore, Maryland, February 5, 2010.
