InfoRatte's wife Mary is a professional musician, a union member, a music teacher for Schmitt Music. a mother, and grandmother.

Background:
Engineer (mechanical and industrial) and management consultant, B.M.E., University of Minnesota, 1961; sought office 14 times in 28 years: U.S. Senate, 1978; U.S. Congress, 1974, 1976, 1982; governor, 1986; lieutenant governor, 1996; state representative, 1984, 1997, 2000, 2002; school board, 1993, 1994, 1995; City Council, 1994.

Goals:

Since Ratte' is going to be a public servant of
the taxpayers in District 50A, he is doing conference calls and a survey to see what you the taxpayer want him do. To get a copy of this survey email your snail mail address to Ratte' at philratte@webtv.net and ask for the Voter Survey.

TERM LIMITS - Limit all State elected officials to 8 years in office - Ratte' will swear an oath to limit his term to 8 years when he is elected

PAC FUNDS - Eliminate the use PAC (Policital Action Committee) funds from special interests to fund elections. Acceptance of PAC funds by candidates from both the DFL and Republican Parties has corrupted the political process. This practice needs to be made illegal. Ratte' has sworn an oath not accept any PAC funds.

STATE BUDGET - state spending should be cut to balance the budget. Ratte' will work to identify those areas where spending can be cut while improving the quality of service to the taxpayers. Ratte' has accomplished this objective for Honeywell, Torit Manufacturing, Rosemount Engineering, Nord Photo Engr., etc. and will do it again for the taxpayers.

ABORTION, GAY RIGHTS, AND GUN CONTROL - lawyers and politicians are using these three emotional issues to divide Minnesotans into Pro-Life and Pro-Choice, those for Gay Rights and those against Gay Rights, and those for Gun Control and those opposed to Gun Control. There are lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians on both sides of these emotional issues raising a lot of money. Stopping the flow of PAC funds from the lobbyists and lawyers to the politicians would help unite Minnesota people to work on
common problems instead of arguing about emotional divisive issues.

LOBBYISTS - Ratte' will not communicate with or be influenced by any lobbyist or lawyer for a special interest that does not live in. work, or have a business in Distrtict 50A (Columbia Heights, Fridley, Hilltop, or St. Anthony). Workers, housewives, students, professional people, business owners , and retired people who live, work, or own businesses in this district will be the lobbyists that will influence Ratte's decisions.

AVAILABILITY - Ratte' will maintain an office in District 50A. He will also have a pager, a cell phone and email. Every call or email from those who live, work, or have businesses in District 52A will be returned by Ratte' himself. Lobbyists and lawyers who live and work elsewhere will speak to his staff.
