Hackett, a Ridley Township native and 24-year police veteran, is the co-founder and president of the Delaware County Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Foundation, where he supervises 25 directors.
During his years of service, Hackett has received numerous awards and commendation for his work and been involved in some high-profile criminal cases, including using interrogation techniques that lead to the apprehension of one the FBI’s 10 “most wanted.”
According to a biography snapshot provided at a recent petition signing event, Hackett, 48, has been coaching football off and on since he was 18 years old and volunteers as vice president and director of a youth football program for the Swarthmorewood Athletic Association. He has been honored by the National Football Foundation’s College Hall of Fame and is a recipient of the Youth League Award.
Hackett and his siblings also founded the Reunion Cup Foundation, which holds an annual golf outing that has raised more than $100,000 for local charities.
