| Info | Jack Sawyer is a devoted husband, loving father of three wonderful children, Sunday school teacher, and successful small business owner. A native of Kinston and the son of the late Pat and Jimi Sawyer, Jack and his family reside in Alamance County where he practices law and brokers real estate. Jack received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from UNC-Chapel Hill in 1994 and went on to earn a Juris Doctor from Regent University School of Law in Virginia Beach, Virginia in 1998.
Jack is thankful for the many blessings he has been given in life, of which many flowed through his parents, Pat and Jimi Sawyer. An elementary public school teacher for over 20 years, Jack's Mom (Jimi) emphasized the importance of working hard to obtain an education that would provide the foundation for greater usefulness in and enjoyment of life. Always the thoughtful lady, Jack's Mom also instilled in him the importance of treating others the way you want to be treated. Jack also learned many life lessons from his Dad (Pat). A sales representative for Procter & Gamble for more than 25 years, Jack's Dad taught him the value of a dollar - that you don't spend it before you earn it, and when you do earn it, you invest and spend it wisely. He also imparted to Jack a love of sports (especially basketball and golf) and politics (especially Republican politics).
Jack's professional experience is characterized by legal expertise, business management skill, and community service. As a real estate attorney, Jack has been an Owner and Manager of two successful law firms in Burlington (Bennett, Deal & Sawyer, PLLC and Sawyer & Kay, PLLC). Since 1998, Jack has represented North Carolina homeowners and small businesses in thousands of real estate transactions. Jack's legal experience also includes serving as Title Counsel in one of the nation's largest title insurance companies. In addition to being a successful small business owner, Jack currently serves as a Director of Alliance Mutual Insurance Company, a NC property and casualty insurance company based in Greensboro. Jack remains active in his community as a Member of the Mebane Business Association, and formerly as a Member of the Alamance County Chamber of Commerce where he served on the Federal Legislative Affairs Committee. Jack also is a Member of the North Carolina Bar Association, the Alamance County Bar Association, the North Carolina Association of Realtors, and the Burlington-Alamance Association of Realtors.
Jack's political involvement can be traced back to his teenage years. While a student at UNC-Chapel Hill, he served as a Summer Intern in the Washington D.C. offices of U.S. Senator Jesse Helms. Jack has actively served the Alamance County Republican Party and various GOP candidates as a grassroots volunteer, fundraiser, campaign treasurer, and former member of the Alamance County Board of Elections. He served as the Alamance County Chairman for GOP Gubernatorial Candidate Bill Cobey in 2004, and was selected that same year as an Alternate Delegate to the Republican National Convention in New York City. Jack's political heroes are William Wilberforce, John Jay, Abraham Lincoln, and Ronald Reagan.
