Born on August 20th, 1942 Mike was raised in a culturally diverse neighbourhood in Davenport, Iowa. Currently in her 16th year as a Township Trustee in the largest township in Rock Island County, Mary is also a member of the Illinois Sate Democratic Central Committee from the 17th Congressional District.
Together, Mike and Mary have raised two daughters. Their eldest daughter, Susan, is currently an Associate Professor of Law. Their younger daughter Barbara is the CEO of the Alpha XI Delta Sorority. Barbara’s husband Kevin is a former teacher and coach at UTHA. Of course, the greatest joy of Mike’s life is his two young grandchildren, 6 years old Nicholas and 2 years old Madeline
