InfoJohn Amodeo was born in Camden and raised on Absecon Island. He attended Margate City schools, played Little League, and was a competitive swimmer for the Margate City Beach Patrol. As a graduate of St. Augustine's Prep, he went on to Mount St. Mary's College in Maryland where he majored in Political Science while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1973 he married Luann DiGiacinto. Together they have raised two children; John Charles and Amy Dee.

In 1984 John and Luann settled in Linwood. Both became active in the community coaching youth sports and involved with the Linwood Republican Club. John was honored in 1998 by being selected by the Republican Club to seek a term on the Linwood City Council. He was elected that year to Councilman-at-Large for a four year term and reelected in 2002. John is proud of his accomplishments while serving on the Linwood City Council. They include leading the Linwood Bike Path lighting project to completion along with its beautification, tree planting, and bench promotion. Additionally, John served as chairman of the Finance, Public Works, and Police Committees and was a member of the Board of School Estimates.

A New Jersey licensed crane operator, John has worked on many local construction projects. As the lead Engineer on the Ocean City / Longport Bridge Replacement project he was honored with several safety awards.

Recently relocating back to Margate, John stays committed to community service. He is a trustee for the Margate City Beach Patrol Alumni Association and a past Vice President of St. Augustine Prep Alumni Association.
