InfoJacalyn Cilley was elected to the Senate in 2006 after serving one term as a state representative from Barrington.

She was born and raised in Berlin, New Hampshire. Sen. Cilley holds a Bachelor's degree in psychology and Master's degree in Business Administration from the University of New Hampshire.

She owned and operated a market research firm, Cilley & Associates, for many years providing market information and market assistance to area businesses. Today, she is a partner, with her husband Bruce, in Horseshoes Plus, Inc., a nationally recognized farrier supply firm.

Cilley served as adjunct faculty at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics at the University of New Hampshire for approximately 20 years during which time she taught courses in marketing, marketing research, advertising and promotion, strategic marketing management, marketing workshop, organizational behavior and strategic management.

Her years in business as well as teaching at the state's largest business school have shaped Sen. Cilley's pro-business stance, which favors policies that encourage sound stewardship of both human and natural resources in this state.

She is married and has five sons and 11 grandchildren.

Sen. Cilley has served on the Strafford County Delegation's Executive Committee as well as the Contracted Services Committee and was an active member of the County Delegation during her tenure as a state representative. She also has served on the board of the Dover Adult Learning Center.
