John Pulomena is 44 years old. He has lived in South Plainfield for 16 years. John holds a Bachelor of Science Degree from the City University, New York with a major in Computer Science/Math. John has extensive experience in Marketing, Finance, and Computer Information Systems.
John is currently completing his first term on the Board of Chosen Freeholders. John served three terms as Councilperson as well as Council President in the Borough of South Plainfield. He has also served as Chairperson of the Middlesex County Planning Board.
As a member of the Board of Chosen Freeholders, John Pulomena is the Chair to the Health and Education Departments. In the area of education, John has taken the leadership role to enhance the educational programs in both the County College and County Vocational Schools. His commitment to quality state of the art education is demonstrated in the construction of the new Academy for Science, Mathematics and Engineering Technologies on the County College campus and the construction of the new Vocational and Technical High School in Perth Amboy.
In the area of Health, we have expanded services for Rape Crisis victims and enhanced our Health awareness programs throughout the County. These programs have been funded through grant money thus adding no additional cost to our residents. Over the last three years John has also been very instrumental in continuing to maintain a fiscally responsible budget for the County. John is a strong advocate of bringing greater efficiency and accountability in serving the residents of Middlesex County. He continues to be a strong proponent of participatory government and believes the involvement and input of the people is necessary before the governing body makes decisions.
John's vision for the future of Middlesex County is to continue to enhance the quality of life for all our residents and to ensure a safe, healthy and prosperous environment for our children.
