Daily Era in 1891; purchased a half interest in the Punxsutawney Spirit in January 1892; elected as a Republican to the Fifty-eighth and Fifty-ninth Congresses (March 4, 1903-March 3, 1907); was not a candidate for renomination in 1906; resumed newspaper interests in Punxsutawney, Jefferson County, Pa.; died in Cleveland, Ohio, May 12, 1932; interment in Circle Hill Cemetery, Punxsutawney, Pa.
