Info | Chief of staff to retiring Westmoreland County Commissioner Phil Light.
I was born and raised here in Westmoreland County, growing up in a small section of Mount Pleasant Township. I had wonderful family and community support in my childhood and this is where I learned to love this area and this county. I attended Mount Pleasant Area High School and after graduation went on to pursue my education at Duquesne University where I earned a Bachelors degree in Secondary Education with a concentration in History. In 2002, I started my education at Seton Hill University where in 2004 I earned my Master of Business Administration with a focus on management.
As an adult I lived for a short time in North Carolina and for a year in the city of Pittsburgh. But to me, home is more than a building and a yard and soon Westmoreland County called me back. After my marriage to my wife, Angela, in 2002 we bought our first home in South Greensburg. Wanting to offer my soon-to-be-born daughter the same supportive environment that was afforded to me, we then moved to our current home in the United area of Mount Pleasant Township in 2005. During my wife’s first trimester of pregnancy, we decided this would be our last move for a very long time. We were blessed with our daughter, Addison, in October 2005.
Since college I have worked in different facets of the community. In my position at the admissions office of University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg and in my position at the Pressley Ridge Schools at Ohiopyle, I was given the chance to work with children and young adults in their quest to succeed in life. As you may already know, my current position is as the chief of staff for our current sitting Republican Commissioner, Phil Light. I took this position in 2004 when the late Terry Marolt was elected as a commissioner and then stayed on when Phil Light was appointed to the post.
