Info | Danny Miller Corn, 62, died at his home, surrounded by his loving family and friends, on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born at the Indian Hospital in Lawton, OK on April 1, 1946 and was adopted by Ruth and Arch Corn of Oklahoma City. Danny was a 1964 graduate of Putnam City High School. He received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Central State College in 1969 where he was a member of the Sigma Tau Gamma Fraternity. In 1977 he graduated with a law degree from the University of Oklahoma. He married the love of his life, Margaret "Meg" Corn, on August 1, 1989, and she survives him. Danny was a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association and practiced law in Oklahoma City for over 30 years. He had an avid interest in photography, tennis, and practiced Transcendental Meditation for over 35 years. He volunteered his time with Special Olympics as the local and state event photographer. In 1994 Danny was the Independent U.S. Senate candidate where he advocated for more truth in government. Danny's kind heart and generosity of spirit will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Misti Chappell, his granddaughter, Quimby Chappell, his sister and brother-in-law, Hannah and John Hassell of West Lafayette, Indiana, his mother-in-law, Jean Simms Chandler and her husband H.D. Chandler, his nephews, Jeff Hassell of Austin, Texas, Todd Hassell of Shinam, Korea, and many more nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Ruth and Arch Corn and his father-in-law, James K. Simms. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the many friends and medical professionals for their caring support, and especially to Tonie Norman, Larry Mahan and Cindy Abercrombie for their loving and compassionate care during his final transition. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 pm, Wednesday, Nov. 19, Smith & Kernke, 14624 N. May Avenue. The family requests that memorial donations be made to: Oklahoma Special Olympics, 6835 S.
