InfoRepresentative Linda Valentino was elected to the Maine House of Representatives in 2004 and has served two years on the Legislature’s Legal and Veterans Affairs Committee.
In her first year in office, Rep. Valentino sponsored a bill prohibiting issuers of gift cards from charging dormancy fees and requiring any up-front transaction charges to be fully disclosed to consumers at the time of purchase. It became law. Later, she was integral in passing a bill commonly known as the “Anti-bully Act”, which amended school codes of conduct to address harassment and bullying. Rep. Valentino supports Maine businesses, opportunity through education and access to quality health care for every Mainer.

Rep. Valentino is a 1974 graduate of Thornton Academy. She has a B.A. in political science from the University of Southern Maine and is a certified paralegal. She is a former Commissioner of the Maine Liquor and Lottery Commission and was elected for three terms to the Saco City Council, where she served as Deputy Mayor and Chair of the Finance Committee.

She and her husband, Curtis Scamman, live on Boom Road in Saco. They have three grown children and two grandchildren.
