Info | Rep. Bob Burns, a Democrat, represents parts of St. Louis City and St. Louis County (District 93) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to his first two-year term in November 2012.
Prior to his legislative duties, Rep. Burns worked 33 years in the brewery industry at Grey Eagle Distributors, Inc. He was an Alderman for the City of St. George. He served on the Affton School District Board of Education and was inducted into the Affton School District Hall of Fame in 2010. Rep. Burns worked on the Congressional Staff of U.S. Congressman Richard Gephardt from 1995-1999 and the Senatorial Staff of U.S. Senator Claire McCaskill from 2007-2010.
Rep. Burns is a member of the First Baptist Church of Affton, International Brotherhood of Teamsters and a former member of the St. Louis Community College Board of Trustees. He was appointed Trustee by the St. Louis County Council to close out business for the disincorporated City of St. George. In 2001, he became Co-Chair of citizens’ advocacy group, “Lemay on the Move,” that worked to bring River City Casino to the town of Lemay.
Rep. Burns is a 1966 graduate of Affton Senior High School.
Born June 16, 1948 in St. Louis, Rep. Burns currently resides in Affton with his wife Dianne. They have two sons, David and Michael.
