InfoRep. Holsman, a Democrat, represents part of Jackson County (District 45) in the Missouri House of Representatives. He was elected to the House in November 2006. Rep. Holsman is a Social Studies Teacher and Head baseball and Asst. Head Football Coach at Van Horn High School in Kansas City.

In addition to his legislative duties, Rep. Holsman is a former political correspondent for the St. Louis Suburban Journals and held a public relations position in former Senator John Ashcroft’s office in Washington, D.C. Rep. Holsman is also a member of the Ancient and Accepted Free masons, Center Planning and the Southern Communities Coalition.

Throughout his career, Rep. Holsman has been awarded the National Honor Roll for Teachers in 2005 and recognized in the Who’s Who Among American Teachers in 2005 and 2006. As a student he received the National Citizenship Award in 1993 and was recognized in the Who’s Who Among High School Students in 1993.

A 1994 graduate of Blue Valley High School in Stillwell, Kansas, Rep. Holsman went on to earn Bachelors of Arts Degrees in Political Science and History from the University of Kansas in 1999. He later earned a Master of Arts Degree in Diplomacy and Military Science from Norwich University in Vermont. He also earned his Missouri Teaching Certificate in 2005 and has 20 hours of graduate work in Education from Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.

Rep. Holsman was born on March 25, 1976 in Kansas City, Missouri, where he currently resides with his wife, Robyn. They have two children: Savannah Grace and Grant Thomas.
