Info | born and raised in Edon, Ohio, a town of about 900 in Williams County, Ohio, Benjamin Patrick McCullough knew early that he wanted to make a difference. As a child he was active in soccer and baseball, and in a number of school activities. High school brought further pursuits of education, developing interests in history and our American system of government. He also continued baseball and played basketball for Edon Northwest school. As elected president of his high school classes freshman through junior years and president of National Honor Society senior year, Ben understood that scholarship, leadership, character and service were the four pillars that would define his career. He participated in Buckeye Boys State in 2004, a prestigious summer experience for only 2000 selected young men from across the state to learn about Ohio's government with the guidance and sponsorship of the American Legion. Here, he was elected State Representative in the mock-body. He also was thrilled to participate in the National Defense Leadership Council in Washington D.C., where he sharpened his interest in security issues. Following graduation from Edon High in May 2005, Ben began the next stage of his education at Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio, as an expected political science major, with a minor in philosophy. Within several weeks upon arrival, he was elected class Vice President, where his leadership duties have provided unique learning experiences. In his spare time, Ben is an avid sports fan, and enjoys hunting and spending time with his friends and family. He remains fully committed to his education, and the people in his life, through the experience of running for State Representative. Over the summer, Ben is working for Northwest Electric, and helping the Edon baseball team. By continuing his education while serving in this position, both sides of his person will grow with depth, knowledge, and resolve. Being a Representative will allow him to live out his dream of aiding the people that have given him his foundation in life. Ben McCullough feels a strong personal responsibility to use this foundation for the service of others
