She's seeking the Republican nomination this May to replace State Representative Tom Raga, who's running for lieutenant governor.

Shannon is a conservative activist with a wide range of experience in government and community service. She worked for Cincinnati Republican Congressman Steve Chabot, serving as Chabot's district director, press secretary and chief-of-staff. She also worked for Republican Treasurer of State Joe Deters as a regional representative and for Republican U.S. Senator Mike DeWine as a regional director. Jones has also utilized her diverse government, community relations, and public policy background as a consultant to the City of Springboro and the Dayton Children's Hospital.

Jones has served in a variety of leadership positions in Warren County. She is a graduate of Leadership Warren County, she's active in the Springboro Chamber of Commerce, and she chaired the Springboro Historical Society's 2004 Christmas Festival.
