InfoCommissioner Dan Lederman currently serves on the Union County Commission Board for District one, which includes Dakota Dunes, McCook Lake, Wynstone and Deer Run.

Dan has led the fight in Union County to improve services without raising property taxes by increasing revenue within individual county departments. He has succeeded in adding more than two million dollars to the tax rolls and recovering thousands in back taxes.

Dan is an owner and operator of a surety bonding company that has agents in seven states. He and his brothers manage several businesses including a clothing store that has been in the family for three generations.

Dan lives in Dakota Dunes with his wife Jessica, daughter Ruth, and Son Antonio. The Lederman’s attend Congregation Beth Shalom. Jessica earned her B.A. from Bellevue University in Criminal Justice with a minor in Paralegal Studies. Dan attended the University of Iowa. Dan served in the Army National Guard as a combat medic until he was honorably discharged in May of 2000. He was attached to the 1st Infantry Division and received the National Defense Medal for his unit’s service in Operation Desert Storm.
