| Info | Former State Senator Grace Drake served in the Ohio Senate from 1984 to 2000, representing the eastern/southern portion of Cuyahoga County and all of Medina and Wayne Counties.
During Senator Drake�s tenure in the Ohio Senate, she served as a member of the Agriculture, Economic Development, Education, Finance and Financial Institutions, Highways and Transportation, Judiciary and Civil Justice, Reference, Rules, State and Local Government, and Ways and Means Committees. She also chaired the committees on Health, Human Services, and Aging and Economic Development and Small Business. Nationally, she served as Chairman of the Human Services Committee of the State-Federal Assembly of the National Conference of State Legislatures (NCSL) and was Co-Chair of the NCSL Task Force on Welfare Reform. She has served on several other committees of the National Conference of State Legislatures, Council of State Governments, and the American Legislative Exchange Council.
She has been recognized for her hard work with several key appointments, including serving as the first Chair of the Ohio Women�s Policy and Research Commission; as a member of the State Controlling Board; as Chair of the Retirement Study Commission; as Chair of the Joint Select Committee on Central Motor Vehicle Registration; and as Co-Chair of the Certificate of Need Study Committee. She also served on the Joint Select Committee on Ohio Care and Welfare Reform and co-chaired the Medicaid Long-Term Care Reimbursement Study Committee.
