InfoPat Kight was elected to the Redding City Council in April 1998, appointed as Mayor in December 2001, and re-elected to the Redding City Council in November 2002. Pat grew up in the Los Angeles area and attended Paramount High School. He entered the U.S. Army in 1965 and served one tour in Vietnam. Pat moved to Redding in 1971 and worked as the Materials Manager for Cooper Vision until 1985. Since that time, Pat has worked as the General Manager of North Valley Distributing. Pat has demonstrated active involvementin the community in the following areas: Charter member and past President of the Shasta County Arts Council; Founder of the Riverfront Playhouse in 1981;Member of the Redding West Rotary Club; Past member of the Board of Directors of the Shasta County Economic Development Corporation and the Shasta Builders Exchange.

Pat and his wife, Tammy, have four grown children - Annette, Laura, Jeri and Jeff - and eight grandchildren.

Liaison Assignments: In addition to his duties as Council liaison to the Electric Utility and Economic Development Departments, Pat serves as liaison to the American Public Power Association and the Northern California Power Agency. He also serves as Chair to the Redding Housing Authority and as the Redding Area Bus Authority’s representative to the Regional Transportation Planning Agency.
