InfoMichael Eugene Fleck was born on June 8, 1973 at JC Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Shirley (Long) Fleck and the late Eugene Fleck of Three Springs, PA. Mike is the grandson of the late L. Paul and Estella (Lane) Fleck formerly of Three Springs and the late Russell and Irene (Moffat) Long, formerly of Coalmont, PA. Mike is also the brother to Mark Fleck of Chambersburg, Sandy (Fleck) Brumbaugh of Three Springs and the late Sherri (Fleck) Banks.

Mike spent his childhood in rural Cromwell Township near the Village of Pogue, midway between Orbisonia and Three Springs. He graduated from Southern Huntingdon County High School in 1991, where he served as Treasurer of the Senior Class.

Mike entered Liberty University in the fall of 1991 and graduated in 1995 with a Bachelor of Science degree in History and a minor in Youth Ministry. He worked his way through college at such places as the Bonney Forge Plant in Mount Union and as a Heritage Intern with the Huntingdon County Planning and Development Office.
In June 1999 Mike accepted a position with the Boy Scouts of America, Juniata Valley Council where he was commissioned as a District Executive serving the Oneida District ( Huntingdon County and part of Mifflin).

Mike held the DE position longer than any other Oneida executive. During, his tenure with the Boy Scouts, Mike has seen thousands of boys come through the local scouting program and has worked with hundreds of adult volunteers. Mike has helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for local scouting programs.
Mike soon entered the graduate program at Shippensburg University pursuing a Masters Degree in History, completing all the course work except his Master’s thesis. Mike worked his way through Shippensburg as a graduate assistant with the Dean of Students Office and for a time he worked at the Seton Plant in Saxton, PA, after which he worked as substitute teacher with Southern Huntingdon County School District.

After 5 ½ years as Oneida District Executive, Mike left the Boy Scouts to pursue other goals. He is currently a professional fundraising consultant.

In 2002, Mike married Dorea (Cunningham) Fleck formerly of McAlevys Fort, Jackson Township. Dorea is the daughter of Glenn & Jean Cunningham and she was born and raised on the family’s 200 year old dairy farm in Jackson Township. Dorea is an elementary teacher at Kistler/Mount Union Elementary School.

Mike and Dorea reside near Three Springs ( Springfield Township) in the family homestead that was home to Mike’s grandparents Paul & Stella Fleck (1917-1992) and his great, great grandparents Peter & Mary Gutshall (1859-1917). Mike is presently employed with Raystown Development Services.
