Please do everything in your power to approve the "conscience clause." Trump cannot be allowed to lead this party into a general election shellacking that will be rivaled only by the defeat of Hubert Humphrey (and Humphrey's loss will only be a long distance second).

I fear for the party's future. Please stop Trump.

I think you mean Walter Mondale. In the popular vote, at least, Humphrey made a close run of it.
