InfoFormer Lousiana GOP party chair.

Mike Francis serves as Chief Executive Officer for Francis Drilling Fluids, Ltd. FDF is one of the Gulf Coast's oldest drilling fluids companies, employing more than 350 people at locations in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and Wyoming. The corporate headquarters is located in Crowley, Louisiana.

Mike Francis served as Chairman for the Republican Party of Louisiana from 1994-2000. As Chairman, Mike challenged the political establishment at every level, including his effort to beat most of Governor Edwards' floor leaders in the Louisiana Senate in the 1995 elections. His “Defeat the Dirty Dozen” campaign is widely credited as the key ingredient in the successful formation of a pro-business Senate majority in 1996.

In 2000, Mike Francis founded Invest Louisiana, an organization formed to promote importation of quality jobs to Louisiana through the phase-out of the Corporate Franchise Tax and Corporate Income Tax. In 2004, the Louisiana Legislature passed the heart of the proposal, agreeing to phase out the Franchise Tax on debt.
