Info | Daniel E. Beckelman is a Republican political activist in urban Northern New Jersey and currently serves as one of the executive directors for the Hudson County Republicans. Born November 27, 1985 in Passaic Park, NJ, Beckelman has always lived in Northern NJ and exemplifies the area's cultural leanings. Beckelman has a degree in political science and journalism from The College of New Jersey.
Moderately conservative in ideology, Beckelman was Vice President of the NJ College Democrats, but in summer 2006 he joined the GOP. Beckelman was active in campaigning for Tom Kean Jr. and victorious Ewing Mayor Jack Ball. He was elected Treasurer of the TCNJ College Republicans on November 8, 2006 and is the only person in the school's recent history to have served on both the Democratic and Republican e-boards during his college career.
Beckelman was also re-elected to a second term as SGA Senator-at-Large in the Fall 2006 race and was appointed Lobbying Chair in May 2006. In 2007, he was appointed as Vice President of Administration and Finance for the Student Government. In March 2007, he announced he would run for SGA President, but because of a technicality he was forced to run as a write-in.
In 2008, Beckelman served as campaign manager of Roland Straten's campaign in the NJ 8th Congressional District. In 2009, Beckelman was co-coordinator of the campaign in Belleville Township for Governor Chris Christie. After moving to Jersey City in 2010, Beckelman was appointed co-executive director of the Hudson County Republican Organization and is now running for Assembly in the 31st District.
