Info | Nick Wright, leader of the Green Party of Nova Scotia, has completed an Honours degree in Philosophy with a focus on political philosophy from the University of King's College Halifax and an MBA from Dalhousie University. He is currently in his final year of a Law degree at the Dalhousie University Faculty of Law.
Nick has been actively involved in the social justice and activist community. He is a fixture at community group meetings and actions on issues ranging from animal rights to speaking out against war. Over the past several years Nick has been a member of groups including The Social Activist Law Students Association, The Society for Corporate Environmental and Social Responsibility, The Animal Rights Collective of Halifax (for which Nick acted as media spokesperson doing interviews and dealing with the press), and the Students Coalition Against War.
In the January 2006 Federal Election Nick ran as the Green Party of Canada candidate for the riding of Halifax. He received 3.9% of the popular vote, the highest percentage received by the Party in Nova Scotia.
Nick believes strongly in the values of social justice, environmental sustainability and fiscal responsibility and wants to see a political party that looks to the long-term, not just to the next quarter or to the next election.
