Fred Ronstadt was elected to represent the people of Ward 6 on the Tucson City Council in November of 1997. Continuing the Ronstadt Family heritage of community service, Fred was elected again in 2001 and is currently seeking his third term on the Council.
As a member of the council, Fred has built a strong reputation as a leader who brings people together and builds consensus among stakeholders to solve Tucson’s toughest issues.
A 1981 graduate of Salpointe Catholic High School, Fred earned a Bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education in 1986 and a Master’s Degree in Public Administration in 1994, both from the University of Arizona.
A former classroom teacher, Fred has taught at Salpointe Catholic High School and Canyon Del Oro High School. In addition to teaching, Fred worked as a paramedic to support himself as he earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees. Fred has also worked as a financial and credit analyst in the healthcare and financial industries.
A fifth-generation Tucsonan, Fred and his wife Pam have two boys, Alec and McCoy. They live in Central Tucson.
