In office since 1994, Representative Buck currently serves on the following committees: Interstate and International Cooperation, RMM; Appointments and Claims; Insurance, Small Business, and Corporations; and Roads and Transportation. He has also served on several commissions: Local Government Finance Study (1997-2000), Local Government Finance Study-Chairman (1995), Local Government Finance Study-Vice Chairman (1996), and Commission on Reassessment (1995.)

Representative Buck has conducted town meetings in more than 30 cities throughout Indiana advocating property tax reform and elimination. He is also a leading advocate of property tax elimination within the General Assembly.

James Buck was born in 1945 and grew up in Logansport, Indiana. He received his bachelor's and MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University. He is a Journeyman Tool and Die Mold Maker, as well as a principal Real Estate Broker with Realty Exchange.

Representative Buck and his wife, Judy, reside in Howard County, just outside of Kokomo, Indiana and have five daughters. Representative Buck and his family attend Bible Baptist Church in Kokomo.
