InfoJames Green has been a resident of British Columbia all of his 57 years. He was born in the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster B.C. James grew up in Surrey BC and he spent a great deal of time in Vancouver at his aunt's nightclub which she opened in 1935. James remembers walking down the streets of Vancouver as a ten year old when the Marine Building was the tallest building in the city. In those days, he recalls that as a young kid, he could walk down Granville Street freely.

James came from a single parent family where his mother raised 5 children. He learned about discipline and hard work from my mother. "We were very poor but my mother taught at an early age that I was as good as anyone".

As a 15 year old, James was the BC Junior Olympic Training Program High Jump champion. James also played soccer, baseball, volleyball and basketball. James credits his strong sense of team and leadership skills on his sports team experiences. As he got older he obtained experience and skill in the fields of education, the arts, politics, finance, marketing, entertainment and business. In the entertainment industry, James has been a professional vocalist/musician playing in numerous clubs in Vancouver. James has worked as a model, TV producer/director, master of ceremonies and talk show host. In 1969 James worked as a section head at Woodward's Oakridge and studied at Vancouver City College at the old King Edward Campus.

In 1972, James opted for a career in education. He trained in the Professional Development Program at Simon Fraser University and obtained his first teaching position in Delta, B C in 1973. During his 20 year career he taught elementary school and secondary school. This honed his leadership skills as well. After a twenty-year career, he was elected to the Delta School Board. He was the first independent ever elected in Delta BC. This district's three year cumulative budget was $224,000,000.00. James learned how and what it takes to oversee a large organization. He served as a school trustee from 1989 to 1991.

As an arts administrator, James managed various arts groups and a fine/performing arts school. He has also produced and promoted national and international performers, stage shows, dance competitions, plays, and numerous musical performances. The list of celebrities he has worked with includes the late John Candy, BB King, James Barber, Eric Nagler, Charlotte Diamond, Charmaine Crooks, Steve Podborski, Ian Parker (concert pianist), Frank Ludwg (Trooper) and many more.

James is an experienced executive producer and has a strong commitment and knowledge of the television industry. He began his television career in the cable television area producing and hosting his own local program Stage of the Arts. He then entered the professional broadcast arena by co-creating and executive producing The Urban Peasant cooking series starring James Barber. This program was one of the most successful Canadian television series ever produced and helped put the Vancouver television industry on the world stage. Under the executive production of Mr. Green, 130 episodes of this program were sold to CBC-Canada, TLC-USA, SKY Channel Europe and STAR Channel-Asia. Urban Peasant was one of the top cooking genres programs in the world and was seen in over 120 countries. The next show he produced was Catch the Step, an equestrian program which aired on BCTV. He went on to produce pilots for Chef on the Run hosted by Diane and Doug Clement, and Kid's Cook hosted by Eric Nagler. He also distributed 31 episodes of the CBC TV series Cycle which aired on the Outdoor Life Network.

Another project produced a pilot by called Sports Star Challenge, hosted by five time Olympian Charmaine Crooks and skiing legend Steve Podborski. Other guests included Ross Regabliati and Brian Hillcoach of the Vancouver Grizzlies Basketball team. James was also the executive producer of a television commercial for Sniper Manufacturing. The spot featured former Vancouver Canuck Alex Mogilny and aired on BCTV and VTV.

Throughout his career, James Green has been successful in a wide scope of business activities including business and marketing consultation, executive TV production, marketing and fundraising. As well as this, James Green has acquired sponsorship for the various projects he has worked on. As a television executive producer he has been responsible for all aspects of development, production, business affairs marketing and distribution of television programs and their merchandise. He has a very keen business sense, particularly in the entertainment industry. He is an expert fundraiser and has raised millions of dollars over the years. In fact, in 2003 he raised $3mil.for television production.

James Green is a highly respected member of the business and entertainment communities. He is an excellent communicator and dynamic leader. He possesses the interpersonal skills necessary to communicate with producers, athletes, directors, students, employees, artists, reporters, politicians, sponsors and investors alike. He has drive and skill, and his unique approach to projects allows him to accomplish his goals and the goals of the clients he serves.
