| Info | Patrick is a graduate of Ashbrook High School in Gastonia. From there, he went on to North Carolina State University and Belmont Abbey College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in History in 1999. It was during his college years that Patrick gained an interest in politics. Patrick served as State Chairman of the North Carolina Federation of College Republicans and National Treasurer of the College Republican National Committee. He also served on the Central and Executive Committees of the North Carolina Republican Party at that time. While in college, Patrick worked on the 1996 campaign staff of Robin Hayes for Governor, and was the Republican nominee for the old 76th District seat of the North Carolina House in 1998.
After college, Patrick worked as an executive with DCI / New Media, Inc., a Washington, D.C. based media firm known as a national and international leader in business and political internet applications. He oversaw an internet based campaign opposing Hillary Rodham Clinton?s 2000 campaign for the U.S. Senate at DCI / New Media.
In June of 2000, Patrick accepted a position as a Coalition Director in the Bush for President Campaign. After serving on the campaign until December, including a stint monitoring the Florida recount, Patrick was named National Volunteer Coordinator of the Presidential Inaugural Committee for the President and Vice President.
Following the Inauguration, President George W. Bush appointed Patrick Special Assistant to the Secretary of the United States Department of Labor. As an official in the Labor Department, Patrick facilitated various departmental programs and gained valuable insight into the relationship between government and the American workforce.
Patrick is a licensed real estate broker and agent and is the owner of McHenry Real Estate, a property procurement and management firm. He is a member of the Gaston Chamber of Commerce, the Gastonia Rotary Club, the National Rifle Association and Saint Michael Church. He also sits on the Board of Directors of the United Way?s Success by Six Youth Program. Patrick resides in Cherryville, near his four brothers and sisters and ten nieces and nephews.
