InfoI was born and raised in Swarthmore, Pennsylvania, a suburb just outside of Philadelphia and I am the youngest of three children in my family. I graduated from Ridley High School in 1989 and then attended Shippensburg University for two years before enlisting in the active Army in 1992. I served in the Infantry and received my commission as an Infantry Officer after attending Officer Candidate School at Fort Benning, GA in 1994.

I served in the active duty military for 12 years in a variety of positions, on several different Army posts. I served as an Infantry Rifle Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer, and Support Platoon Leader at Fort Hood, Texas and as a Division Operations Officer, and an Infantry Company Commander at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.

In 1999, I earned my Bachelors degree in Government from the University of Central Texas (now Tarleton State University) while stationed at Fort Hood, Texas.

After leaving active duty I transferred into the Army Reserves in October, 2002 and was stationed with a Military Police Battalion in Grand Prairie, Texas while starting a new career in Arlington, Texas. Three months later I was alerted and mobilized for Operation Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. I deployed to Iraq with my Army Reserve unit in February, 2003 and spent the next 14 months there as a Logistics Officer.

I currently serve as an Assistant Professor of Military Science and Training Officer for the Department of Military Science at the University of Texas at Arlington. I am currently a Major in the Army Reserves and serve as a Strategic Planner for a support unit in Houston, Texas for U.S. Forces, Korea. I also am a graduate of the U.S. Army’s Ranger and Airborne schools.

I was a county delegate from my precinct, state delegate for Tarrant County to the Houston Convention, and national delegate for the state of Texas to the 2004 Democratic National Convention in Boston. I am a founding member of the Texas Democratic Veterans and serve as a Finance Council Member for the state Texas Democratic Women organization.

I am married to Michelle Harris, a military brat from Milledgeville, Georgia. She is a behavioral healthcare contractor and works in Fort Worth, Texas. We have three children; Tristan (13), Zoe (12) and Emma (5) and we live in Arlington, Texas with our dogs, Mango and Kiwi and cats, Darby and Halloween. In addition to everything else going on in my life I am currently working on my Masters degree in Industrial Engineering / Logistics at the University of Texas at Arlington.

Bottom line, why am I running? I want to restore representation to the citizens of Congressional District 6 by creating policies that foster Strong Defense, Strong Families, and Equal Rights for All Citizens and I hope to leave a respectable legacy to the children of the future.
