Dr. Parker Griffith has been involved in charitable and community activities for the last thirty years. In addition, he has developed several small businesses in Madison County . He is running as a Democrat for State Senate, District 7.

Griffith is a current member of the Alabama Medical Association and Madison County Medical Society. As a former Life Scout, Parker serves on the Alabama Boy Scout Council. He also is on the Board for Big Brothers & Big Sisters, and is an active supporter of the Boys and Girls Club. He is a member of the Fearn Fellows, a group that mentors medical students at the UAB campus in Huntsville . He is on the Saturn V Restoration Committee, the Tennessee Valley Jazz Society Board, a mentor the Health Career Opportunity Program and a member of the Huntsville Angel Network, which provides encouragement for start-up businesses in North Alabama . Dr. Griffith is a member of the Land Trust, an avid outdoorsman, and a nature photographer.

Parker and his wife, Virginia, have five children and 10 grandchildren. They are members of The Church of the Nativity and have been active members of the Huntsville community. Both are strong supporters of the Huntsville/Madison County Public Library.
