In every Western country with nationalized health care, poll after poll indicates the number that would prefer the old US system to socialized medicine barely cracks double digits, at best.

Costing less than half of what healthcare in the US costs is a plus too.

Well, if you asked my fiancee, I'm sure she'd tell you that she enjoys having health care provided by the Australian government.

Our "socialized" healthcare is like the third rail of Canadian politics. No matter how conservative the government, they all pledge their support for our health care system. It's not perfect, but virtually no one wants the alternative.

Socialized medicine is the worst form of health care except all the others that have been tried.

And yet, for the most serious and complicated services, they keep coming here. Bizarre that.

The very rich go to the Mayo Clinic or some **** that almost no one in the US can afford anyway. Almost all "serious and complicated services" beyond the most experimental can be conducted in Toronto.

My socialized military Tricare rocks.

My neighbor went to the Mayo Clinic. Her family is certainly not wealthy.

She shares her family's finances with you, does she?

Wealthy foreigners come here for elective surgeries. If you're a German billionaire who absolutely needs that experimental cock implant ASAP, then yes, I will concede that socialized medicine will fail you spectacularly compared to the American system.

I'd much rather go to the Mustard Clinic.
